About

The Lapalala Biodiversity Centre was a transformative project that allowed me to explore the profound impact design can have on its visitors. Tasked with enhancing learning experiences, fostering connections with nature, and promoting sustainability, the design drew inspiration from the natural forms of termite mounds, symbolising adaptability and harmony.

I experimented with geometry to seamlessly connect the existing structure with a new, organic design, balancing tradition with innovation. The minimalist approach reflected the modern world while ensuring functionality and timelessness. The project encouraged curiosity, inviting visitors to explore and discover as they moved through the space.

This experience shaped my design language, pushing me beyond limitations to create a space that inspires and uplifts while respecting its natural surroundings. It reaffirmed my commitment to crafting design that educates, connects, and leaves a lasting impression.
