The new Vega campus project was a collaborative endeavor between 3rd-year and 2nd-year students, showcasing the power of teamwork and shared creativity. Designed to be a hub of innovation, the campus reflects Vega’s commitment to providing a rhizomatic educational experience, where learning is dynamic, interconnected, and ever-evolving.

The design incorporates a harmonious blend of industrial elements, strategic wayfinding, and careful application of colour theory to create an environment that is both functional and inspiring. Exposed structural features, such as steel beams, concrete floors, and open ceilings, form the backbone of the aesthetic, symbolising strength, resilience, and modernity. These raw, industrial features are softened by sleek finishes and natural materials, such as wood and greenery, bringing warmth and comfort to the space.

Wayfinding played a pivotal role in the project, ensuring intuitive navigation for students, staff, and visitors. Clear signage, distinct colour schemes, and strategic lighting were integrated to differentiate zones and guide movement seamlessly. Each area was designed with a specific purpose in mind, balancing dynamic collaborative spaces with quiet corners for focused study.

The application of colour theory further defined the character of each space, tailoring it to its intended use. By blending vibrant tones for creativity-driven areas with calming hues for study zones, the campus design fosters both stimulation and focus.

This project was not only an exploration of innovative design but also a testament to the value of collaboration. Working alongside the 2nd-year students, we were able to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and create a campus that embodies Vega’s mission of fostering creativity, collaboration, and innovation. The experience deepened my understanding of designing multi-functional educational spaces that meet the practical needs of users while inspiring them to achieve their full potential.
